I've just clicked on "John Carpenter's Ghosts of Mars" on Netflix.
Voice-over. A rendering of Mars that looks like a simple Blender tutorial. Text informs us that terraforming is almost complete and we have an Earth-like atmosphere and a matriarchal society.
The first credit on screen is - Ice Cube. This is going to be bad.
Synth music. We see a monorail in a red sand storm. Is that the Earth-like atmosphere I was promised? This looks and sounds like the intro of Zac McKracken!

@compfu@mograph.social even his "bad" films are enjoyable imo. admittedly I bailed on "They Live" halfway thru, but I appreciated its strengths. then we have his masterpieces like The Thing, Halloween, Prince of Darkness, Escape From New York. hes always operated on the fuzzy border with B-movie schlock yet makes it work
