@nixCraft@mastodon.social If i understand this whole layoff stuff correctly (from big tech in general) they are shifting priorities (canceling projects etc…) towards building datacenters and LLM development rather than just straight out replacing people with AI. So the layoffs are just there to free some more budget for datacenters. Continuing to develop their exisiting software doesn’t seem to get the shareholders excited i guess.
