@katyswain@mastodon.social I've used AKG K240 headphones since I was told to by a music person. When I said I didn't want to pay for professional level stuff she shot back "they're like £65” and a stern expression.
That's about what I paid for them and, surprisingly, I love them.
From memory, the cable is replaceable too which is nice.
Edit: looks like there's a newer version out now so it may be hard to find the originals. 🙁

Their over-ear models are the only ones I've found that I can comfortably wear for several hours, and even the cheaper models have great sound. My current set for listening to music while I work is a model K92 which seems to be available for USD 50.
