Participating in an online session next week to discuss strategy and tactics. The model "campaign" we're using is to get folks to use the Fediverse and specifically Mastodon. This graphic below is used to identify the players... Who are the decision makers? Who are the people involved? What is the competition? Etc. Question: Who should be the "constituency?" Everyone? People currently on oligarch platforms? Those on the Fediverse? #organizing #SocialBC @maxtide @chris #powermapping @reiver

@ZebKing@mastodon.online @maxtide@socialbc.ca @chris@socialbc.ca Who are the "folks"? Are these regular people? People at some specific company? People in a city government? Something else? ?

@ZebKing@mastodon.online For "constituency", is there a useful/meaningful distinction between "current players" and "potential future players"? (and possibly "past players," folks who tried the Fediverse and left)

@ZebKing@mastodon.online @maxtide@socialbc.ca @chris@socialbc.ca @reiver@mastodon.social Competition is the current monolith providers (Facebook, Reddit, etc). They make it easy to find content. As a software engineer for 40 years, I’m still perplexed by the fediverse. The players are the folks who could potentially flock to the platform, but it’s too damn hard.
