People on Mastodon discover they can now follow people who were never doing to join here directly giving them much more reason to stay. 3. People on Threads realise that a feed just of people you follow is quite nice and try out Mastodon too now that they can still follow the people they were interested in. I'm not really seeing a model where Threads federating moves people from here to there.
