You could use that to receive calls from the USA for free, make calls to the USA for free, and receive sms texts which could be good for bank stuff (kyc, otps sent via sms, etc)

Porting your number to something like Tello (T-mobile MVNO) that allows wifi calling/roaming (and won't close your account even if you aren't in the US periodically) is better.
