I am reminded, at this time of year, when a speaker who submitted to a hyper-local conference decided, while waiting to hear if the talk was accepted, that the best way to reply to the conference organisers desperately asking for sponsors was to tell everyone on a public Slack that they didn't believe in sponsoring conferences because there's no ROI.
