As with Christian Nationalist ideology, & maybe even more so (since normal people probably at least know a fundamentalist or two), I think this flies a bit under the radar because even in 2026 it seems so nutty that we have trouble accepting this stuff is genuinely influential in the halls of power.

Like, I vaguely recall reading a couple “Mencius Moldbug” posts in the Golden Age of Blogging, & it was just so clearly crackpot stuff that it would’ve sounded absurd to think it would be taken seriously by, never mind significantly influence, billionaire political donors & senior public officials.
