Anniversary of Black Tuesday has me thinking about Jesse Livermore. In early 1929, he amassed huge short positions, using more than 100 stockbrokers to hide what he was doing. By the spring, he was down over $6 million on paper. However, upon the Wall Street crash of 1929, he netted approximately $100 million. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jesse_Livermore

He came home and his wife had sold everything, convinced he lost it all like everyone else on Wall Street. I think it went real bad for him after that. He felt guilty that he profited while everyone else was bankrupt. And then I think family bipolar caused a series of tragedies.
