@spytfyre Thanks for teaching me this Scotish slang expression.
Thing is pigs didn't behave like they used to and as we were prepared to confront them.
There was no, and I mean like ZERO, pigs around us, when they usually circle us to try and terrorize us.
I think their goal was to provoke the most angry (and let's say it, stupid) of the crowd to go and burn bins, break banks, or other symbols of capitalism.
To bad, no one got in this obvious trap.
At one point, there were 3 huge guys, they sure never attended uni, and they began to break a bank's window, shouting "come on you cowards, lets break all capitalist symbols..."
That was so obvious those were undercover cops, they got nothing but booos back !
Whenever a kid tried to join'em, we warned him "those are pigs, do not play their game, let them fail like the loosers they are..."
Took sometimes a bit of using force to prevent the youngest to do precisely what the pigs excited them to do, but eventually, till the crowd of hundred of thousands reached the final meeting point "place de Clichy" there was not even ONE person that fell in the pigs trap.
Just love it !
