@0xabad1dea@infosec.exchange my family dog (papillon) went blind in his later years, but he was so passive and chill that if he got “lost” in the house (aka ended up behind a door instead of going through it), he’d just quietly wait to be saved. Never made a peep. We’d notice he was missing and have to go looking.

@0xabad1dea@infosec.exchange you might accidentally train him to think he’s Bolt 🤔

@0xabad1dea@infosec.exchange our sweet boy has been taught good door manners and so won’t push his way through cracked doors unless they’re opened for him. Sometimes this means that if I leave a door cracked without thinking about it I’ll look at it later and realize that a beast has been sitting on the other side of it and staring at me for an indeterminate amount of time.

@0xabad1dea@infosec.exchange Our dog used to just open doors himself by jumping up and moving the door handle down with a paw and then opening the door wider with his paw and/or nose... I doubt Odin would even need to jump up to do this.... We had to change all the door handles in the house from having a horizontal resting position to having a vertical resting position to make him stop.... Note: we didn't get this dog as a puppy, so a previous family might have trained him to do this...
