Having been subjected to the aggressively rude American culture, it’s always nice being in aggressively polite countries like Japan and UK 🥰 Having had some interesting conversations lately where people complain how being polite is “fake”, I must say I disagree wholeheartedly. Politeness is just having basic respect towards strangers. Fake is when you’re nice to someone’s face and actively talk bad behind their back. Politeness is being cultured, fake is shitty gossipy ppl to avoid.
