#Introduction Hello All. New here. I used to be a GP, now I research and design clinical decision support systems. I love Terry Pratchett. I am likely to post photographs of snakes, spiders and other beasts along with papers on things I understand barely. I dream/hope (read: fantasize about) of studying knowledge itself and making tools that help us navigate and discover knowledge in new ways. I get lost a lot and I am really, really bad at math.

When I wrote new here, i meant here as in this server. Not here as in fedi. I did not anticipate the confusion. Although. I am so happy that people here (as in fedi) are so friendly and welcoming to new peoples.

@anandphilipc@fediscience.org The fediverse does indeed love beasts. But we also love data visualization and analysis, science, and virtually all the things. Something we also love is hashtags. Try putting an interest in hashtag form and click on it to see who else posts about it, or follow the tag to get all posts with that tag added to your timeline. Some of my favorites: #Mosstodon #LichenSubscribe #caturday #FensterFreitag One good hashtag formula is "[noun] of the fediverse". So: #SpidersOfTheFediverse #SnakesOfTheFediverse I forget the precise name for the kind of capitalization those use, but it's good practice to capitalize each word in a hashtag so that screen readers render them correctly. The other big accessibility tip I have is to add alt text to your pictures, like "Tail end of a brown and red snake sticking out from under a box in a crowded garden shed." It's fun, and it helps our friends who don't have eyesight enjoy the feed rushing by. Anyway, welcome! I'm sure you'll find your community. ❤️

@anandphilipc@fediscience.org Oh! So you will know things about precision psychiatry, or just precision medicine in general & the urgent questions now upon us regarding AI-driven tools for clinical integration, right? I can’t seem to get anyone at my uni to listen to me. I tried to ring alarm bells about this regarding clinical psychologists & psychiaty in Australia & build groundwork for URGENT questions. But I’m just an undergrad (3rd yr) so I’m pretty sure they just see me as a bit annoying.
