2/2 "The bright spot should be Lionel Messi. Operative word: “should”. (photo : Pick a side? Lamine Yamal’s little brother is pretty adorable so that makes a strong case for Spain) Even though he should be closer to a retirement home than a penalty spot, he can still produce awe-inspiring moments on the pitch. He’s already cemented GOAT-status. But then those photos with Benjamin Netanyahu resurfaced – a reminder that he’s become more of an empty vessel that human rights violators can package for their own ends. Plus, the Fifa shenanigans from the start of the tournament have put a sour taste in everyone’s mouths. If Argentina wins, the rapture will start and there’s no telling what will happen next. If Spain wins, we’re still in hell. Africa, we have no good choices here."
