108 days until #Android becomes a closed platform, giving up what advantage it had over closed systems. If they don't reverse course by then, I'm already planning to abandon them. Without an open system, they fail to compete against the other big closed mobile platform. https://keepandroidopen.org/ #mobile #OpenSource #software #engineering #tech

According to @keepandroidopen@techhub.social there are 90 days until #Android becomes a closed platform with new restrictions from Google disallowing open development of apps. 😦 (Apparently the clock was updated targeting the end of September instead of the beginning.) Does Google not realize that without the open environment, what remains is inferior? Just throw away your advantage... https://keepandroidopen.org/ #mobile #OpenSource #software #engineering #tech
