Elon Musk wants to put data centers in space. But to power a single GPU rack you need 1000 m3 of solar panels. He talks about putting 1TW of solar panels in orbit, corresponding to 50km x 50 km of solar panels. Then there’s cooling, Musk claims it’s a “no brainer” because “space is cold, 3°K”.
