Well, I went on some hiatus but regressing with something my hyper focus has been targeting. This year there was a surge on physical advertisement banners in Lisbon. They are spawning from the ground like grass. Plenty of these are LED screens that keep playing multiple ads 24/7. You can also find huge screens in the highways, which intent is literally catching the driver's attention (you can't use cellphone while driving they say). Today while looking for material on JCDecaux (main screen ads company in Lisbon) and ended up finding about #brandalism It is good to see that there are more people concerned about this issue in the concrete world, where AdBlockers don't exist. Despite the whole behaviour induction by ads, there is also a great chance that such new Ads Screens might contain cameras and other ways of tracking and linking people, meaning our privacy is in danger also in the real world. Meaning we are subjects of consumerism not only on internet but now in real life as well. Here is few references I found from Brandalism collective: - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EXSNzQa1WWE - brandalism.ch #brandalism #hackads #ads #hacking #civildisobedience #lisbon #lisboa #portugal #privacy #graffiti #revolution
