“You shot my eye out!” Jed hollers.
“And I’d do it again” the raccoon with the firearm yells. “You tried to kill my brother!”
Jed, who never took no guff off a critter, turned and fired, and his assailant slumped to the ground.

Before Jed could collect himself, the first raccoon come skittering over and armed himself with his dead brother’s rifle. “You finished my brother,” he growled. “I’d do it again,” Jed hollered back. “He shot out my durn eye.” “And now I’m gonna take t’other,” the raccoon vowed.
