@joyousjoyness@mastodon.social That's so cool! I was mostly raised in Utah so anytime I went out of that space I was amazed at how I was treated and how much better it felt. Those places unshaped me in ways that Utah was trying to shape me.

@joyousjoyness@mastodon.social I spent some of my most formative years in Lahr, Germany. It was like living in Disneyland with things like school trips to Florence and Venice or field trips to Verdun or the like. I think those five years had the largest influence on the remaining 55.
