@dickflatteningenthusiast@poa.st I don't like getting gifts if I'm being honest. If I get a worse version of something I would get for myself I feel disappointed, if I get some kind of trinket or decoration I feel depressed because I just see it as junk that will take up space.

@MeBigbrain@poa.st I once bought myself a really nice black leather wallet to replace a shitty one i'd had for ages. I left it the box for a while because of reasons and i didnt want to fuck it up immediately, then my birthday came around and my family got me a wallet too because they didnt know about the one I bought and they'd obviously noticed my ratty old one. I've used the one they bought me ever since. I have no idea where i've left the expensive black one, but i'd rather give it away than replace a gift because it has far more sentimental value to me than the one I picked out for myself. Until it gets holes in it anyway.
