@peterdrake@mstdn.social The Miles Vorkosigan series by Lois McMaster Bujold. An engaging protagonist whose flaws are as entertaining as his virtues, a rich universe with varied cultures, and fun adventure mixed with insightful character development. And the duology about his parents (collected as Cordelia's Honor) is also excellent.
