@letsencrypt@infosec.exchange made encryption the default for much of the web, and hundreds of millions of websites now rely on it. Through the #SovereignTechFund, we have committed more than €1 million to prepare it for #quantum computers. The Internet Security Research Group, the nonprofit behind Let’s Encrypt, will move it to Merkle Tree Certificates, a new format for website certificates that stays secure in the quantum era. 1/2
