Questions arise concerning the currently super-hyped Linux configuration Omarchy. It's created by the Danish developer David Heinemeier Hansson (DHH) who is also the creator of Ruby-on-Rails. However, there's a rising concern about DHH's extremist right wing views, so much that Omarchy is now being called "a political movement disguised as a Linux distro. Over $18 million dollars from powerful men and companies are funding it." There is an effort to push back: https://stopomarchy.neocities.org/accessible

@mok0@mastodon.online Dear Morten. I dont see the big difference in this and Ubuntu's establishing 20 years ago. The biggest difference is that there are a lot of people who see a viable alternative to the duopoly of Microsoft and Apple on the desktop. Thats why e.g. Dell who is always tied down to Microsofts decisions decided to post a lot of money in this. There are also many in silicon valley who believe in breaking monopolies - especially when the monopolies are doing bad job as is the case currently. Im not running Omarchy, but ill check it out sometime. Right now im very happy with my kde desktop, but I do hope that many discover that there are great alternatives to the duopoly and why not through Omarchy - its WAY better than what it's replacing.
