"I can't believe Renee was this awful." She left her children for dead in chapter 1, it was pretty obvious how she left in a hurry and ignored her children's suffering. The rest of the story is just showing how else she was a bad mother, from verbal abuse and neglect of all varieties. And it was all because people keep wanting to paint Ashley as the sole villain of the story. Really it's the painting Ashley as the only villain of the story that annoys me with takes like this. Yes Ashley is a bad person, so is Andrew, probably worse than Ashley. But I swear, people just wanna pin all the blame on one character, and it defeats the purpose of the game's story. It also feels like an excuse for bad parenting.
