I am unbelievably excited by the diversity and talent in the group of potential Green candidates for the next Edinburgh City Council elections. I care deeply about representation in politics, and local government is poor across the board in terms of gender, racial and other forms of diversity. We have a chance to make a difference in this as Greens, by selecting our own candidates carefully (particularly as we might end up the biggest party after the next elections!) and with diversity in mind.
