Put this in your calendar: On Aug. 28, Earth’s shadow will cover up to 96% of the moon’s disk, creating an exceptionally deep partial lunar eclipse. It’ll be visible across Europe, Africa, the Americas and parts of western Asia. What can I expect? Do I need eye protection? @Spacecom@flipboard.com has more:

@ScienceDesk@flipboard.social @Spacecom@flipboard.com I checked timeanddate.com for details and there's an even better event: a solar eclipse on August 12th! https://www.timeanddate.com/eclipse/solar/2026-august-12
