Replacing the springs on my garage today. Sprocket on the motor broke a couple weeks ago, which is when I found out that the existing springs were not able to hold the door when half open.
I could see the old ones were a few inches shorter than the previous two installations so I measured and weighed the door rather than get an exact copy. I'll see what those are rated for later.

Ooof. Worse than I though. Door weighs in at 260lb, the old ones were only capable of 224. Still, done in 3 hours, not injured or dead. Now to replace the motor gear and sprocket and re-set the chain and I can treat my self to a ribeye.
