@jwz@mastodon.social It wasn't broke so they broke it. I can't use it.

@jwz@mastodon.social i'm thinking through the reasons why that would happen and they are all dumb

Making a list of the times when I would not want to "View full post". Yup. It's an empty list.

@jwz@mastodon.social It looks like they're truncating at the smaller font size, but not the larger one? Or is one of the screenshots scaled? Either way, looks stupid and pointless, and if I say so as a reply, hopefully I'll get notifications in case anyone finds a fix. Times I might not want to "view full post": if it's in my main timeline and the poster is on an instance that lets them post an essay that goes on for pages. Otherwise, no. Times I'd want it to truncate after one line, or even six: never.

@jwz@mastodon.social Kind of wild that VC software quality piss is trickling down the leg of all software. (Of course, this is probably where I find out that Paul Graham actually owns 51% of Mastodon or something.)

@jwz@mastodon.social This problem should have existed in the old design too, right? The "read more" calculation is based on set pixel height, so increasing font size would hit it sooner.
