#WordWeavers 23: What rule – legal, cultural, magical, social, or otherwise – does your MC regularly break? The working women MCs in my short stories A Very Long Malaise and Between One Word and the Next have clandestine romantic and sexual relationships in violation of palace rules, and not because it's with other women — unapproved heterosexual relationships were subject to worse penalties. Interestingly, while these #sapphic women were breaking legal rules, socially speaking these same-sex relationships seem to have been known about and been accepted or at least tolerated within their communities. #HistoricalFiction #QueerLit
