  • This video is incredibly satisfying to watch with a kicker of a twist near the end for something about kitchen cleaning. Priya Krishna does amazing work. https://www.nytimes.com/2026/10/24/dining/restaurant-cleaning.html?unlocked_article_code=1.L1E.dsrN.DvKWEK65vjeF&smid=nytcore-ios-share

  • I want to watch a thing and I am waving wads of cash at the internet to no avail, part 8,385: How in the world do I get my hands on the BBC recording of the 2017–2018 Almeida Theatre production of Hamlet by Robert Icke (you know, the one with Andrew Scott)?? Why can I not just, you know, pay and then watch it!?

  • RE: https://mastodon.online/@patrickworld/117490534349659150 I never thought I’d say this but I guess I’m coming around on the hockey stick lowercase L

  • Every now and then, I try to reverse-engineer which exact nameIDs a certain piece of software is using to display the name and style of a font. Let’s say, an obscure system my client is using. So, I am considering making a font that has “self-named” nameIDs that reveal which one is used in the app (there may be limitations to this approach, though). Has anyone done that before?

  • @DunwichType I suppose that would require a whole bunch of test fonts. But we’d go to great lengths to figure that out, wouldn’t we?

  • “Hi dad. Oh, you’re playing a computer game?” – “No. Just doing some hinting on my new type family.”
